Power Crackers

This is the first time I've ever made my own crackers. And to be honest the first time I have ever used chia seeds. Craziness. These are really fun and easy to make. It takes about 5 minutes to mix everything together and 10 minutes to meticulously spread the mixture out even and thin on the baking sheet. Additionally, these crackers have a fairly neutral taste so you can use any of your favourite dips with them. These crackers will help sustain your energy throughout the day and provide you with lots of protein, vitamins and minerals. Get snacking! Reposting from the Oh She Glows Cookbook 🙂

Serves: 2 (Makes 20 Cracker pieces) | Prep Time: 15 minutes | Cook Time: 1 hour

  • 1/2 cup of chia seeds
  • 1/2 cup of sunflower seeds
  • 1/2 cup of pumpkin seeds
  • 1/2 cup of sesame seeds
  • 1 cup of water
  • 1/4 tsp of sea salt
  • 1 clove of garlic, finely grated
  • 1 tbsp of your favourite spices


  • STEP 1

    Preheat oven to 300 and line baking sheet with parchment paper

  • STEP 2

    Mix all dry ingredients together in large mixing bowl

  • STEP 3

    Add in water and let sit for 2 minutes until chia absorb and no water is left at the bottom of the bowl

  • STEP 4

    Spread mixture out on the baking sheet into 4 thin rectangles- about ⅛ inch thick

  • STEP 5

    Bake for 35 minutes, gently flip rectangles with a spatula

  • STEP 6

    Cook for another 25-35 minutes until edges are golden brown

  • STEP 7

    Let crackers cool completely on pan for 15 minutes and break up into crackers

  • STEP 8

    Store in airtight container for up to 2 weeks (freezer friendly up to 1 month)
