Turkey Burger Recipe

Turkey Burgers are the perfect quick summer meal. they are full of deliciousness and not to mention are extra lean and healthy. My favourite part is everyone gets to add their own personal toppings ! Turkey contains Niacin, Vitamin B6 and B12, iron and zinc. Turkey is good for your heart, your immune system and a super source of selenium which is of critical importance for a number of our bodily functions including thyroid hormone metabolism & antioxidant defence systems.

** Read the label carefully so that it is ground from breast meat with no added skin. Look for ground turkey that is 99 percent fat-free. If the figure is higher, it probably contains dark meat and/ or skin. **

Homemade Turkey Burgers

Serves: 8 | Prep Time: 20 minutes | Cook Time: 15 minutes


  • 2 pounds ground turkey
  • Copy of 2 pounds ground turkey
  • 1/2 cup finely chopped onion
  • 1/8 cup chopped fresh parsley
  • 1/3 cup seasoned panko breadcrumbs
  • 1 clove garlic peeled and minced
  • 1 tbs Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tbs Dijon Mustard
  • 1 tsp extra virgin olive oil
  • 1 egg
  • 1 tsp salt and ¼ tsp pepper or to taste

Topping Ingredient List (Optional)

  • Whole Grain Bun
  • Arugula or Spinach
  • Jalapeno Havarti cheese or aged cheddar cheese
  • Copy of Arugula
  • Avocado
  • Tomato
  • Pickles
  • Red raw onion or cooked caramelized onion
  • Sauces: Sub tzatziki for mayo & organic ketchup for regular


  • STEP 1

    Mix all ingredients together in a large mixing bowl (Be careful not to stir the ground meat too much as it will toughen the texture)

  • STEP 2

    Roll the mixture into ½ inch thick burger shape

  • STEP 3

    Cook the patties in a medium skillet over medium heat turning once or on the BBQ (internal temp of 160 degrees)

  • STEP 4

    Grill your bun and top with your favourite ingredients
